PickRef ("the app", "we", "us") is the official referee app for the Pickleball World Cup 2026 tournament. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled. The app is intended for tournament referees who hold an account issued by the organizing committee.

1. Data we collect

We collect the following data, which you provide when you sign in or edit your referee profile. All data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Messaging).

We do not collect precise GPS location, photos from your library, payment information, health data, or contacts. The location field is free text you type — it is not read from device location services.

2. How we use your data

Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
Show your referee profile and match assignments.
Send push notifications about matches, courts and assignments.
Operate live scoring and result confirmation during the tournament.

3. Tracking and sharing

We do not use your data for advertising or tracking, do not sell your data, and do not share it with data brokers. Data is processed only by Google Firebase as our infrastructure provider, under Firebase's privacy terms.

4. Data security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS and stored in Google Cloud. Access is restricted by Firebase Authentication and Firestore Security Rules based on your referee role.

5. Data retention & deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app. This permanently removes your profile data and revokes sign-in tokens. You may also email us to request deletion.

6. Children

PickRef is intended for accredited referees aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children.
